Emadine:

0.05% Emedastine per solution








Overview:

Emadine is used to reduce the symptom of allergic conjunctivitis, which is expressed in

patient's hyperemia eyes with watery discharge. Emadine works by reducing the effects of a substance called histamine. Emadine is a prescribed drug.


Medical Uses:

Treat allergic eye conjunctivitis.


Side effects:

The most common one is:

  • Headache

Other side effects include:

  • abnormal dreams

  • blurred vision or other change in vision

  • eye redness, irritation, or pain

  • tearing, discomfort, or other eye irritation not present before therapy or becoming worse during therapy

  • weakness

  • bad taste

  • burning or stinging of the eye

  • dry eye

  • feeling of something in the eye

  • itching

  • skin rash

  • stuffy or runny nose

Drug Interactions:

  • Amifampridine

  • Bupropion

  • Donepezil

  • Pitolisant


Dosing:

The dosing of this medicine differs for patients. Please follow your doctor's instructions or the directions on the label.

Usually, the dosing for eye allergy:

  • Adults and children three years of age and older—Use one drop in the affected eye one to four times a day.


Notes:

*Please do not wear contact lenses if your eyes are red. After using this medicine, you

shouldn't immediately put your contact lens back in.
